I want to take the time to thank everyone for their words of congratulations and support on my completion of the marathon. It was an absolute dream come true for me. Growing up in MA I honestly thought Marathon Monday was the holiday, and remember watching the marathon every year on TV. Utta Pippig anyone? I wanted to be her! It was an amazing day that only got better at mile 20 when I met my patient partners (I ran for Massachusetts General Hospital's Cystic Fibrosis Team, a cause that is extremely important to me after the loss of a good friend over a year ago, followed by the losses 2 patients I cared for at the hospital.) and got a huge hug from each of them and a thank you whispered in my ear from the younger one. Miles 25-26.2 showed me how great all my friends are (see =Ryser915's journal..) when they were all out cheering me on along the marathon route and at the finish line. There is no feeling you can compare to running across that Finish line and knowing that you not only ran 26.2 miles, but you helped save someone's life with the fundraising. All the hard work and dedication to training was more than worth it. I'm already planning my next one!
Unfortunately it will be a while before I can get out and take more shots. I'm currently stuck on crutches awaiting further evaluation of my foot by a doctor, but as always, I will be on this site checking out your work! Thank you again for everything!
